Instructions for Creating a Weebly like this!
1. First, go to this website: www.weebly.com
2. Second, on the front page chose a username, password, and put in your school email address. You will be using this website every day, so you need to remember this information!!!!
3. After you finish putting in your information, on the new page, click on the orange link that says create a site.
4. A blue boxwill pop-up asking you to give your site a title. Create a title for your site, and type it in. Think about what you want your permanent title to be; you can’t go back!! L Then click continue.
5. On the top of the page, it should say Designs in bold lettering. Click on that: this is your layout for your site.
6. Scroll through the different designs and layouts for your site, then click on the one that you want.
7. Now this is VERY IMPORTANT! You now can choose how to start off your first paragraph!! Click on Elements, which is to the left of Designs. You now have the freedom to choose how you want your first paragraph to look like: plain, title, or two columns. Just click on the one that you want and start typing!
8. You HAVE to have a picture taken of yourselves at work in class, and then upload it to the home page of your site. You should know how to do this; we have talked about it in class! It will be counted towards your grade, just so you know.
9. Also, you need to have a welcome and a quote by a famous philosopher or scientist; and no, NOT a quote from you, or the one on my welcome page! J
10. You can change the font and size, plus add a link on what you are writing.
11. For your paragraph, write about what kind of job you are looking for. Any questions, just ask me or your neighbor. The intent of this website is for you to keep it all through HS and use it as an electronic resume…so this shouldn’t be a “Facebook” or “MySpace” site…this is a professional electronic resume site! You will include pages with your
a. Resume, with links to the rest of the pages (Find your resume from 1st semester, or recreate using mydreamexplorer.org )
b. Education
c. Extra-Curriculars
d. Community Service
e. Interests/Hobbies
f. List of Skills, with Examples of Skills (Best publisher doc, Best letter doc, Best ppt…)
g. Past employment (you may just leave this spot vacant for now!)
